What is Outdoor Cinema?
Outdoor cinema is designed to bring the nostalgia of the drive-in movie in a new format.  The movie comes to you.  Viewers can enjoy movies in a relaxing outdoor setting.

How large of an audience can Sunset Cinema accomodate?  We have inflatable screens to accomodate audiences of 3,000 as well as screens that can entertain your friends in a backyard setting.

How are the screens set up? AirScreens are totally inflatable.  The larger screens must be anchored, where as some of the smaller screens are freestanding structures.  Although the screens are quite heavy, the weight is evenly distributed so grass should not be damaged.  If a screen is left up for an extended period of time, the grass may discolor.

What does Sunset Cinema, Inc. provide?  Our rental fees include the screen, sound and projection systems.  We also include technicians to show the movie, set up and take down equipment.

What must the customer provide?  The customer must provide a clear area that can be easily accessed by our staff.  The ground size needed will be determined by the size of the screen that is rented.  Areas must be free of any aerial or underground obstructions. (See Specifications)

Does Sunset Cinema, Inc. provide concessions or security?  No, any additional features of your outdoor movie event are the responsibility of the customer.  This includes security, concessions and pre-event entertainment.

Does Sunset Cinema, Inc. license the movie?  No, as the provider of the equipment for your event we cannot license the movie.  The end user is responsible to meet all licensing requirements.

How do we license a movie?  Sunset Cinema, Inc. will provide contact names and phone numbers for reputable licensing agencies.  (See Policies)    The film title is up to you, however we are a family friendly business, ratings of G, PG or PG-13 are preferred.  R rated movies must be pre-approved by Sunset Cinema, Inc.  It is best to select a film that is available in widescreen.

How much does it cost to license a movie?  The cost to license a movie varies depending on the audience size, the type of event and the movie title selected.

What about lighting?  A completely dark area will result in most vibrant picture.  All surrounding lights should be able to be turned off.  Headlights can also be a factor. It is wise to place the screen away from parking areas.

What happens if it rains? Sunset Cinema provides a weather guarantee in the event of inclement weather.  (See Policies)

Does wind affect the screen? Yes, AirScreens can take winds up to 23 mph (when trees start to sway vigorously). We can setup equipment with winds of up to 15 mph. Once the screen is standing, it can handle winds of 23 mph. Beyond 23 mph, our technicians will immediately deflate the screen. In windy situations, we often shift screen placement so that the screen is parallel to the wind.

What type of projection do you use?  Sunset Cinema uses front projection.  This ensures the clearest picture.  The projector is usually in the middle of the audience, about 4 feet off the ground.

How much set up time is required? Sunset Cinema staff prefers to be at an event at least 4 hours prior to the movie being shown.  This can vary depending on location and the venue itself.   Usually an hour before the movie, sponsor ads, music, games etc. can begin.  Approximately 10 minutes before the movie announcements and greetings can be made.  Normally, the screen is deflated 15 minutes after the movie ends and removed within an hour.

How much cost is involved?  Prices will vary depending on screen size and location.   A rental fee is charged plus travel expenses.  (See Pricing)
